Hidden on the corner of First Avenue and Ski Hill Road, lies Forage. This little gem of a restaurant at first glance looks like a bistro or sandwich bar. Don’t let the name fool you. I thought the place would specialize in sprouts or something, but was very pleasantly surprised. Once inside, we were greeted by the staff and welcomed to sit wherever we chose. The HD Dunn Beef burger was my choice because it came with a gluten free bun option. I requested medium-rare and they did not disappoint. The gluten free bun was delicious, and to the best of my knowledge, Forage is the only place you can buy a hamburger with gluten free bread in all of Driggs, Idaho. The beef was locally grown and was very good. The taste was fantastic, or maybe I was just dying for a hamburger. My husband ordered the Idaho Trout Chowder, which to 2 transplanted New Englanders, was almost heretical to suggest in lieu of New England chowder. I mean, how could they? The Idaho Trout Chowder was amazing! They did not merely substitute trout for clams, oh no. They reinvented the chowder with an amazing spice and the fresh Idaho trout was fantastic. I was literally blown away that someone could make chowder to rival the traditional clam. This chowder is worth the trip. The red house wine tasted suspiciously like my favorite French wine. Next, we ordered the Sautéed Haddock and again, the taste was lively and palatable. Most of the tables in Forage provide million dollar views of the Tetons, and the atmosphere was friendly and comfortable
